Berhanou Abebe library of Ethiopian Studies 2017 New Acquisitions

La Bibliothèque d’études éthiopiennes Berhanou Abebe est ouverte sur inscription, de 9h à 17h du lundi au vendredi. L’inscription se fait en bibliothèque auprès des bibliothécaires. Un justificatif de rattachement à une université ou à une institution de recherche, ainsi qu’une photo d’identité, sont demandés. Les personnes désireuses de mener un projet de recherche à la bibliothèque hors du cadre universitaire sont priées de prendre contact auprès du CFEE (secretariat@cfee.cnrs.fr).
The Berhanou Abebe library of Ethiopian studies is open from 9AM to 5PM, Mondays to Fridays. Registration is carried out by the librarians in the library. Applicants shall bring a letter justifying their academic affiliation and an ID photo. Independent researchers (persons without any academic affiliation) willing to carry out a research project in the library should first contact the CFEE (secretariat@cfee.cnrs.fr).

La bibliothèque du CFEE a acquis une cinquantaine de nouveaux ouvrages et une centaine de numéros de revues scientifiques au cours de l’année 2017. En voici la liste.
The CFEE library has acquired about fifty new books and a hundred issues of scientific journals during the year 2017. Here is the list.

Opening of the Ras Ghimb Museum in Gondar

EXPOSITION / EXHIBITION

Le CFEE a célébré le 16 octobre 2017 l’inauguration du musée du château du Ras Ghimb à Gondar. L’inauguration a eu lieu en la présence du maire de la ville de Gondar, M. Tekeba Tebabal Abitew, de la directrice du Bureau de la Culture et du Tourisme de la Région Amhara, Dr. Hirut, le directeur du Bureau de la Culture et du Tourisme de Gondar, M. Aschalaw Worku, du Conseiller de coopération et d’action culturelle de l’Ambassade de France en Ethiopie, M. Pascal Roos, du directeur du CFEE, Dr. David Ambrosetti, et de la secrétaire scientifique du CFEE, Dr. Amélie Chekroun. Étaient également présentes Dr. Anaïs Wion, superviseur du contenu scientifique et principale auteur de l’exposition, ainsi que Dr. Margaux Herman, auteur de certains textes.
On Octobre 16th 2017, the French Centre for Ethiopian Studies has celebrated the opening of the Ras Ghimb Museum in Gondar. The opening ceremony has been held in the presence of the Mayor of the city of Gondar, Ato Tekeba Tebabal Abitew, the Director of the Tourism and Cultural Office of the Amhara Region, Dr. Hirut, the Head of the Tourism and Cultural Office of Gondar, Ato Aschalew Worku,  the Head of Cooperation and Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of France to Ethiopia, Mr. Pascal Roos, the Director of the CFEE, Dr. David Ambrosetti, and the CFEE project manager, Dr. Amélie Chekroun. Dr. Anaïs Wion, supervisor of the scientific contents and main author of the exhibition, as well as Dr. Margaux Herman, author of some texts, were there as well.
