CFEE Newsletter (April–May 2026)
Dear readers,
The months of April and May were once again rich in scientific activities, collective work and new collaborations at the French Centre for Ethiopian Studies and within its wider network.
Over the past weeks, the CFEE hosted the 2026 Doctoral Workshop, bringing together the recipients of the 2025 CFEE field grants for two days of presentations and discussions around research conducted in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa. This period was also marked by the announcement of the 2026 CFEE Field grant recipients, following a call for applications that received strong interest this year.
The Centre also took part in the celebration of the second anniversary of the inscription of Melka Kunture-Balchit on the UNESCO World Heritage List, continued its collective work on the CFEE archives, and welcomed new interns and visitors. Several seminars, publications, blog posts and outreach initiatives further contributed to the Centre’s scientific life, including new content on the CFEE YouTube channel.
The CFEE continues to publish its bi-monthly newsletter on its blog, offering a broader view of its recent activities, collaborations, publications and ongoing projects.
