WOmen at work!

Travail visible et invisible en Ethiopie,

au prisme du genre

Dans le cadre d’un projet de recherche sociologique en Éthiopie sur l’engagement moral des entrepreneurs (voir notre billet précédent : cfee.hypotheses.org/2155), j’ai réalisé des clichés dans les entreprises étudiées mais aussi dans les rues des villes où j’ai effectué mon enquête. S’inscrivant dans la perspective de la photographie sociale, ce projet utilise la photographie comme révélateur de la reconnaissance sociale du travail en Éthiopie. Il se fonde sur des prises de vue d’individus au travail réalisées entre 2011 et 2017, à Mekele, Hawassa, en pays Afar et à Addis Abeba et ses alentours. Jouant sur la notion de frontières, entre le travail et le hors travail, le dedans et le dehors, la photographie permet de rendre visible le travail. Elle montre les divisions, les formes de coopérations et la manière dont la professionnalité se donne à voir dans un pays en transformation.

Ces clichés ont donné lieu à une exposition à l’Alliance Ethio-Française d’Addis Abeba dans la cadre de la nuit des idées (du 28 janvier au 17 février 2018). Une vidéo de présentation de l’exposition est visible à l’adresse suivante : goo.gl/v4LY2r.

The Ethio-French Railway was the first industrial enterprise of Ethiopia. Built at the beginning of the 20th Century, this line was operated by a French Company, which became Ethiopian in 1959 but remained under concrete French administration up to the independence of Djibouti in 1977.

La Fondation Croix-Rouge attribue chaque année une dizaine de bourses postdoctorales en sciences humaines et sociales. Cette année, à l’appel général intitulé « Transition humanitaire : les enjeux de l’autonomie », s’ajoutent plusieurs appels spécifiques soutenus par certains de nos partenaires. Ces appels partenaires  proposent des sujets plus précis, dont les objectifs correspondent aux thématiques et réflexions communes à la Fondation et ses partenaires engagés sur la recherche avec les mêmes convictions de sa nécessité. Il est possible de proposer jusqu’à deux candidatures, une pour l’appel général et une pour les autres appels.
