List of the recipients of the CFEE 2019 Field Grants / Liste des lauréats des bourses de terrain du CFEE 2019

 

 

Following our 2019 call for applications for partial funds for fieldworks and/or study of collections in the museums to MA students and PhD candidates doing their researches on Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, the scientific committee of the CFEE has selected 12 recipients.

Aline Galland (PhD Student, Université de Bordeaux), Etude fonctionnelle de l’outillage en quartz de la basse vallée de l’Omo.

Axelle Djama (Master Student, Sciences Po Paris), Maintien de l’ordre et régulation sociale au Somaliland : une étude ethnographique des pratiques policières à Hargeisa et Boorama.

Daniel Admasu (Master Student, Addis Ababa University), Youth Protests in Oromia since 2014 G.C and the Peace Building Efforts:
Prospect, Challenges and Retrospects.

Emishaw Workie (PhD Student, Addis Ababa University), Society and Environmental Change in North Shewa, 1888-1991.

Emmie le Galès (Master Student, Université Paris-Panthéon Sorbonne), Les manuscrits du scriptorium de Ménélik II : aux fondements d’une littérature ménélikienne ?

Getaneh Wudeneh (Master Student, Addis Ababa University), Mining Development and Human Security in Ethiopia; Case Study on Midrock Lege Dembi Gold Mine in Odo Shakiso Woreda of Oromia Regional State.

Hanna Borenstein (PhD Student, Duke University), A New Running Economy: Ethiopian Female Distance Runners In Networks of Capital.

Lola Mirti (Master Student, Université Lumière-Lyon 2), Le développement de la peinture moderne en Éthiopie (1957 – 1974) : de la création de l’Ecole des Beaux-arts à la Révolution du DERG.

Louise Klein (Master Student, EHESS), L’engagement politique des femmes dans la démocratie somalilandaise.

Simeneh Gebremariam (PhD Student, University of Michigan), Kinet: Music and Politics from the 1974 Ethiopian Revolution to (Post)Socialist Present

Toon Dirkx (PhD Student, Addis Ababa University, University of Basel), The Legacies of Rebel Governance Civil War and State Formation in Eritrea and South Sudan

During the civil year 2019, these Masters and PhD students will partake in the activities of the CFEE research programs and the CFEE seminars.
