Following our 2020 call for applications for partial funds for fieldworks and/or study of collections in the museums to MA students and PhD candidates doing their researches on Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, the scientific committee of the CFEE has selected 12 recipients.

Fekadu Bizuneh (PhD Student, Addis Ababa University), Youth in Movement: An anthropological Study of youth political Participation and Agency in Burayu, Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia.
Giuseppe Briatico (PhD Student, Sapienza University of Roma, University of Tübingen), Stable isotopes analyses on tooth enamel from Melka Kunture site (Ethiopia). Studying the diet, the climate, and the environment in East Africa, during the Early and Middle Pleistocene.
Emmanuelle Bugeau (Master Student, Sciences Po Bordeaux), La Zone Industrielle Orientale de Dukem et ses dynamiques urbaines.
Pierre Fimbel (Master Student, Université de Paris-Nanterre), Évaluation des politiques et projets d’approvisionnement en eau potable et assainissement à Addis Abeba.
Méhéret Gaston (Master Student, Université Paris-Diderot), La gestion des déchets solides issus des industries agro-alimentaires, à Addis-Abeba.
Misganaw Gebremichael (Master Student, Addis Ababa University), Analysis of Early Acheulean Artifacts from the Lower Omo Valley, Shungura Formation: New Data from Member L (1.4 Mya to 1 Mya).
Alban Mas Aparisi (PhD Student, SOAS), L’économie politique de la mobilisation des savoirs dans la fabrique des politiques agricoles en Éthiopie.
Heloïse Mercier (Master Student, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), Les manuscrits de la dite Chronique de l’Awsa (Éthiopie orientale, XVIe-XVIIe) prospection, édition, traduction et analyse.
Muhammed Nur (Master Student, Gondar University), Pre Gondarine Royal Courts and Jesuit Strongholds East of Lake Tana.
Morgann Pernot (Master Student, Sciences Po Paris/INALCO), De la distinction. Entre frontières subies et frontières agies, exercice de distinction pour les femmes de la communauté yéménite à Djibouti.
Lou Rouquet (Master Student, Université Toulouse-Jean Jaurès), Ethnographie des musiciens de Djibouti à travers le récit de vie d’un artiste Afar.
Biruk Terrefe (PhD Student, Oxford University), Ethiopia in Transition: Between Democratic and Developmental aspirations.
During the civil year 2020, these Masters and PhD students will partake in the activities of the CFEE research programs and the CFEE seminars.
